If you are a human then you will have had some form of pimple in your life. So for all those who have terrible or very noticeable pimples, don’t feel too bad; you are not alone and even persons who seem to never have a pimple have had them before. They probably just know how to cover them up with a lot of makeup. So since you want to know how to protect yourself from getting these pimples I have written up this article of ways you can achieve just that. The truth is that even if you follow these tips you will find that you will get a pimple or pimples from time to time but these tips will help reduce the amount you get and the frequency.

1. Hygiene – this is number one as it is the easiest way to prevent pimples. If you cleanse the affected area with an appropriate cleanser for adequate amounts of time through the day then you will find that this will lessen the occurrence and amount of pimples that you get there.

2. If you find that you tend to get pimples a lot you will need to find products that are considered noncomedogenic. These do their work without clogging your pores so if you have to wear moisturizer or sunscreen choose ones that have this feature. If you are a female and you wear makeup you may also want to find types that have this as well. Try not to wear too much makeup though and avoid wearing it for prolonged periods.

3. Some medications such as antidepressants, birth control and antipsychotic agents will cause you to get pimples. For birth control you can have your doctor recommend another one and for the other two medications you can ask your doctor if there are any alternatives to the drugs that you can use. If there are no alternatives then do your best at following the rest of the tips here.

4. Reduce your intake of foods that are high in fat and up your consumption of fruits, watery vegetables and water.

5. If you are a smoker now is your time to quit. It doesn’t directly cause you to have pimples but it does leave your skin prone to bacteria and bacteria and pimples are not a good combination.

6. For a lot of persons they tend to have pimple breakouts in times of stress; if you have a deadline to meet at work or school or are having problems with family or other loved ones. If you find that you are in this category you will need to find ways to distress. You will know what is best for you so once you figure out how to reduce your stress then your pimples will subside.

7. Stop rubbing, picking and popping the pimples. You have probably read and heard this time and time again but yet you cannot resist the urge. This only makes it worse so doing this alone could significantly reduce your pimples.
