Chances are, if you’re reading this article, you’ve had or are living with acne. It’s a constant struggle to keep the nasty bumps off your face. While it’s most prevalent in teenagers, acne is usually the sum of many things—out-of-control hormones and clogged-up pores (with things like grease, grime and even dead skin cells).

Acne-free skin requires a daily, progressive regimen of cleansing and treating. It also includes (if you haven’t yet begun to have an outbreak) using good hygiene practices and keeping clean to prevent outbreaks. While doing that can even fail sometimes, you will still have great arsenal of weapons to use against acne.

#1 rules to abide by:

•	Avoid oily, greasy fast food as much as possible. Avoid any makeup that contains, especially, comedogenics—these oil-based products will only irritate your face more.
•	Carefully observe labels on cosmetics and creams; products with lanolin, in addition to “comedogenics” should be eliminated from your choices.
•	Shower twice a day, and use a gentle, natural soap to carefully wash your face and other affected spots. Never rub or scrub them too hard, as you’ll likely provoke even more irritation.
•	Never, ever use your fingernails to pop a “zit”. Besides all of the bacteria-laden oils and grease underneath them, you could seriously infect your sebaceous glands (the glands that you are, in fact, treating).
•	Mild and only occasional breakouts usually do not warrant anything more than keeping your skin clean and using a couple of over the counter products.
•	However, a severe case (which usually consists of whiteheads, blackheads and nasty cysts) needs to be treated by a dermatologist. Over the counter drugs and creams will probably not be effective weapons, at all. You still want to keep your skin very clean, however.

An acne-free face and body is something many teens dream about. The more breakouts you have, the longer the treatment cycles are going to last. However, all hope is never lost and you will eventually win the war against acne.
Products with low-levels of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid are generally good for breakouts, but do not go overboard and do not get the highest strength. The ones with the highest strengths are the ones that are most likely to further dry-out and irritate your skin.
Other products work just as well with mild-to-moderate acne. Astringents (used moderately) are great for cleansing the skin of excess oil. Other, more household-like products include:
•	Garlic—organic cloves which are topically applied
•	Vitamin A vitamin supplements, as well as around 45-50 mg of zinc
•	There’s also a hodgepodge of herbs/teas out there that have varying results.

Being acne-free is not only something you do for your health, but it’s also something you do to keep any self-esteem you might have left after a breakout. Teenagers are especially vulnerable to the mockery of their friends.

Acne is detrimental to your social life to say the least; it is embarrassing and lowers your self-esteem considerably. When you’re young, the stigma is much worse–because, as we all know very well–children can be cruel to their peers who have even the slightest of socially unacceptable differences in appearance.

There are three different types of acne; mild, moderate and severe but the general definition for the word acne is irritation and sometimes swelling of the sebaceous glands and the hair follicles of the skin. Every person is predisposed to acne as it has many factors that can cause it but some persons only experience mild acne.

To determine the type of acne that one has a grading system is used. For the type of acne that we are talking about here the description is that there are no more than 36 comedones or papules and no permanent lesions on ones skin. This type of acne shows up in anyone from birth to age 100 or more and it comes not only on the face but can also be on the arms, the back and thighs just to name a few places.

How to Take Care of your Mild Acne

You can use over the counter acne treatments that are applied to the surface of the affected skin. You will need to wash the affected area with a gentle can wash but do not over wash, just simply wipe the cleaning agent onto your skin with your hands or a soft washcloth and rinse away with room temperature water.

After cleansing the area you can now do one of two things; you can apply an acne cream to the spots where the acne is evident or you can apply the cream to the entire area. If the container does not specify how often to apply this treatment, you can do it twice per day. If you notice your skin getting dry this is just the normal reaction. If it starts to peel then you will need to use a light moisturizer, it is best if you use one that is designed for persons with acne and you will more than likely be able to find one that is made by the same company that makes your acne cream.

You may also want to choose a moisturizer that has sunscreen especially if it for your face as, when your skin peels it is more susceptible to damage from the rays of the sun. Remember you won’t see results right away so don’t panic; it sometimes will take a couple weeks and as long as months. If you are using a certain product for a couple of months and cannot see any improvements then you should visit a dermatologist.

What are Some of the Medications That Treat Mild Acne?

The first medication that everyone is familiar with are washes that are antiseptic, these come in body washes as well as face washes and usually contain salicylic acid. This aids in getting rid of acne by unclogging the pores. Other medications come in the form of creams and contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide.

There are other creams that have as their primary ingredient hydrogen peroxide and these are referred to as stabilizing creams. There are also some medications that have in addition to the above ingredients erythromycin, azelaic acid and clindamycin. Creams with these additions help to fight against any possible antibiotic infections that may occur just by virtue of having these ingredients. It is the other ingredients though that deals with the acne itself.

Acne and its components do not only come on the face. No, you can have pimples, whiteheads and blackheads and scars all over the body; the back, the thighs and the backs or your arms. Many persons suffer from back acne and do not have it treated; as a result they end up with back acne scars. A wide variety of persons experience this across different age groups, genders are races. If you are any of these I am sure you are searching for information to do a couple of things;

1.	To tell you how to minimize the occurrence of these scars.
2.	How to minimize the visibility of these scars and…
3.	How to get rid of your back acne forever.

How to Minimize The Occurrence Of These Scars

You will need to exfoliate daily to ensure that the pores of your back do not get clogged or remain clogged for a longtime. This will reduce the amount of acne you will notice on your back and thus reduce the risk of your back becoming scarred any worse that it already is. Your diet plays an important part in the oil production of the body and so having a diet low in fat especially saturated fat and including healthier fats can help. You can also drink your allotted amount of water for a 24 hour period and these will not only minimize the acne but will also help you in other ways pertaining to your health.

How to minimize the visibility of scars

You will be particularly interested in this if you are a female that likes to wear clothing that exposes your back. There are a number of fade creams on the market that you can use, just ensure that the one that you choose is noncomedogenic as well as not oil based. These will give you the fading results without further clogging your pores and causing more acne.

How to Get Rid Of Back Acne Scars Forever

The scars will be hard to get rid of if you only use topical treatments. If you have the money to spend on a back peel this will get rid of the scars over two or so treatments depending on the severity of your scars. A back peel is not a dermatological treatment and is more of a spa treatment and is similar to a face peel that is why you will have to do more than one treatment to get rid of the scars. Your other option that will be more expensive is laser treatment or laser removal.
This procedure will be done by a dermatologist and you may be advised against it based on what the dermatologist tells you about the type of acne that you have on your back. He or she will advise you on what to do if you only have minimal scarring and can benefit from a milder treatment and possibly a topical treatment.

If you have scars on your back as a result of acne then there is no need for you to worry as there are treatments for this.

Although some may think that this is a very unusual place to have acne, neck acne is relatively common. Due to the fact that the skin on the neck is thicker than other places on the body, this type of acne is very difficult to be successfully and permanently treated. This acne will develop just like acne anywhere else on the body but tends to be a bit more painful and harder to treat; treatment is possible, though.

Neck acne is a lot like the acne that you will find on your back. It is seen more predominantly in males than females but there are women who are affected by this condition. When the pores in your neck get clogged up then the normal function of draining bacteria and skin oil is obstructed. As these cannot be released they back up and cause a swollen red area that sometimes will burst and which contains pus. Anything that rubs against your neck will aggravate your acne. It is very common for one to wear a collared shirt in an attempt to hide the acne but this does more harm than good. Below you will see how to not irritate your acne.

How to Take Care of Your Neck So As Not to Aggravate the Acne

•	Reduce the amount of shirts with collars or crew neck type shirts that you wear.
•	When you must wear these shirts opt for those that are made from 100% cotton as these won’t be that irritating.
•	I know it is tempting like with any other type of acne to pick and try to burst and all of that, but refrain from doing this as it only makes matter worse.
•	Be aware of when your neck becomes irritated and what irritates it at that time so you know what to avoid.
How to Take Care of Your Neck Acne
How you take care of your acne depends on how severe the case is. The following portion will tell you how to deal with each level of your acne
•	For a Light to moderate case you can use a cleaning solution that as around 10% glycolic acid.
•	For a moderate to severe case you can do one of two things. Use solutions that contain 10% glycolic acid in combination with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. You can also use what is called accutane but you should use this with caution as it does present some side effects and is not proven to work over a long period of time. So choose wisely.

If you have acne on your neck it may be harder to treat than other acne and it may be easier to flair especially if you are a guy and work at a job that requires you to wear collared shirts. You can lessen the irritation by wearing 100% cotton shirts and washing the area with the specified cleaning solution based on the severity of the acne that you have.

It’s also known as back acne, and can be one of the most worrisome—hard to deal with spots where acne sometimes forms. Because the back is one of the hardest to reach (and observe), bacne is a particularly troublesome form of acne. Fear not, though; there are several time-tested ways of dealing with this “monkey on your back”.

Bacne can appear-in just as many forms as acne—say, on the face—can. Pimples, whiteheads, blackheads and cysts can, yes, even make their way back there. This happens when your sebaceous glands produce too much sebum—an oily substance that is meant to protect the skin and hair follicles.

Try any one of these techniques, or even a mixture of them.

•	Assuming that you already know to get a minimum of two baths daily, invest in a soft back scrubber (aka back-brush or “loofah”). Later it with a soft, non-abrasive soap and scrub thoroughly—yet gently.

•	You want to exfoliate, or remove toxins like dead skin cells, bacteria-laden oils, dirt and soot.

•	When you’ve dried off, put an acne-fighting cream on the bacne (that contains a retinoid, benzoyl, or salicylic acid). If you have someone who doesn’t mind applying medication to your back, have them use a cotton swab to apply the solution.

•	Since your back sweats almost more than any other part of the skin, extra care has to be taken to reduce the sweating as much as possible.

•	Don’t wear tight shirts; instead, make sure they are airy, loose and comfortable. Cotton shirts generally allow much better air circulation than other materials.

•	The soap that you use while showering should be fragrance-free and have either glycolic acid or salicylic-based ingredients.

Another important thing to consider is your diet and your stress-level. While stress as an acne-inflaming trigger has not been scientifically proven, it’s best to avoid stress whenever/where possible. Your diet should include organic vegetables, fruits and other non-greasy foods. Try to avoid fast-food, and drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day (as water is a great internal detoxifier).

More items that need your attention

•	If you sleep without a shirt (i.e. guys), make it a point to change or wash you sheets often. Why? Because some of the dirt, oil, sweat and bacteria rubs-off, and when you start rolling around in it—well, you get the point.

•	Some people have suggested olive leaf extracts as natural antibiotics. They claim that olive leafs contain anti-fungal, anti-toxin properties.

•	Also, you can try filling your tub or Jacuzzi with luke-warm water. Hop in, and soak your back for around 10 minutes. Also, while not required, it will not hurt to drain the water after 10 minutes (to dispose of the water that, by now, probably has plenty of bacteria and oil in it), fill the tub up again and soak again. Wax on, wax off.

• When you’re considering an acne cleanser or antibiotic, keep in mind that the skin on your back is the toughest of all. Therefore, go for products with higher levels of benzoyl or salicylic acid.

•	However, never use a product that specifically says that is for the back anywhere else on the body (like your neck or, especially, your face). More than likely, these products are more robust, more powerful and should not be applied to other parts of the skin—since skin anywhere else is likely to be much more fragile.

Pimple on labia problems are not as uncommon as you think. They can occur with any age, race and sex. It is a cause of embarrassment for some people, but reluctance to discuss this with your health care provider will only lead to more irritation and recurrence. It’s best to keep yourself informed and seek treatment as soon as possible. Genital acne (scientifically known as hidradenitis suppurativa or acne inversa) is the inflammation of the apocrine glands in the pubic region. Apocrine glands can also be found in the armpits and the nipple area. Genital acne can be caused by one or several factors. These include hormonal changes (puberty, pregnancy or menopause), some diseases that imbalances the hormones, poor hygiene, a reaction to medication, stress, and a poor diet. Blocking of a hair follicle in the genital area can also lead to genital acne, due to chafing or the use ointments and lubricants.

Ill-fitting and synthetic underwear also contribute to the occurrence of genital acne. Using such underwear traps sweat and bacteria on the skin, causing the apocrine glands to be irritated and develop into pimple on labia. This and poor hygiene habits, especially infrequent washing and cleansing, are the common causes of genital acne.
Treatment for this type of acne is attainable with some tips and the help of your doctor. To relieve the symptoms, you may try washing the area with water and a gentle cleanser. Try a cleansing formula that has a natural anti-bacterial element, such as tea tree or lavender oil. Under no circumstances should you attempt to pop the pimple or apply over-the-counter creams such as benzoyl peroxide. These creams are meant for other types of acne and applying them on your sensitive genital region will only result in more irritation and a burning sensation. Your doctor may recommend a topical medicine or an anti-biotic to combat genital acne. The medication usually comes in oral form, with names such as tretinoin, erthromycin or tetracycline. For symptoms that involve hormonal changes, birth control pills are sometimes prescribed.

Genital acne should not be confused with two other conditions. What you may think is a simple inflammation could either be genital warts or a viral infection called molloscum contagiosum. Genital warts may stand alone or be found in a cauliflower-like cluster. These warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are sexually transmitted. Molloscum contagiosum appears as dome-shaped lesions and can actually occur in any part of the body. Molloscum contagiosum usually require little or no treatment and can disappear in span of 6-12 months, even without treatment. Those who want to get rid of the lesions may turn to cryotherapy as a solution. It’s best to have a doctor check your symptoms so the right treatment can be prescribed for you.

To prevent the reoccurrence of your pimple on labia problems, practice good hygiene, especially on the genital area. Consider switching to cotton underwear and avoid wearing clothes that are too tight fitting. Simple practices such as these will help you avoid irritation and infection and prevent the problem from happening again. As always, if you have any questions or other medical concerns, never be too embarrassed to ask the professional advice of your health provider.
